Splash Park busy already

With the Green River Splash Park officially open, the park was already filled with children trying to beat the heat.

On Tuesday morning, children were running through the park screaming and laughing.

At first, they all said they were warm, but the moment they ran into the water, they would start to scream.

The cold water hitting them, always sent the children running the other way.

Younger kids were not too sure of the water. One mother said this was already their third trip to the splash park, but her youngest was still not too sure about getting into the water. Her daughter would just walk around the outside of the splash park, but shortly before it was time for her to leave, the girl had put her toe in the water and was running away.

With several different water features to choose from, the park was not overcrowded. At least, not on Tuesday morning. When children wanted a break from the water, they would either wrap a towel around and sit in the sun to warm up or they would play on the Evers Park playground equipment.

Once the kids were warmed up, they were once again running and splashing in the water.
