Castle Rock Hospital District health fair set

Just don’t stop by to pick up results, stay and see what the Castle Rock Hospital District Health Fair has to offer.

This is the message, CRHD operating manager Naomi Trumble would like to get across. She wants residents to know that they can not only pick up their results at CRHD on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, but they can visit with health-care professionals in various areas of expertise.

A lot of the time people will just stop in and grab their results, she said, they just don’t know how much is at the health fair. Trumble starts planning the health fair after Christmas.

“We usually have a pretty full house,” she said.

Some of departments attending the event, include Green River Fire Department, Green River Police Department, Castle Rock Ambulance Service, SW-WRAP, Smith’s Pharmacy, some health centers, the Wyoming Cancer Center, some oxygen companies, a nutritionist and personnel from Mission at Castle Rock.

CRHD will also have health-care providers at the health fair who can answer any questions about lab results. Trumble said appointments can be made to those who need them if there is something irregular with their results.

“We usually average about 300 that pick up their results,” Trumble said.

This is a pretty good turnout. On average, 450 to 500 residents choose to have some sort of lab tests done prior to the health fair. A lot of residents work it into their annual routine, which includes having lab work done and then scheduling a physical exam, she said.

Some of the lab work performed by the Castle Rock included a general health screen, thyroid stimulating antigen, prostate specific antigen, hemoglobin AIC, hemogram, Vitamin D test, blood typing, bone mineral density and body composition analysis.

Residents who failed to have their blood tests done ahead of time are still encouraged to attend the event and speak with local health-care professionals.

Those who are unable to attend the health fair to pick up their results can still pick up their results at CRHD anytime during its regular business hours.
