Diver fares well at huge meet

In a battle against some of the best competition in the state, the Green River High School swim team had some standout performances at last week’s Gillette Invite.

Leading the way for Green River was Keyan Moore who finished an impressive sixth place in the one-meter diving event.

“Keyan has been really coming on in diving. He’s doing really well,” head coach Colleen Seiloff said. “Being a sophomore has stepped up and been a leader and is really improving.”

She added several other divers are close to qualifying for state.

“I’m really impressed with our divers this year,” Seiloff said.

Paul Wright placed 18th in the 200-yard IM and Ethan Moffatt finished 20th in the 100-yard breaststroke. A freshman, Moffatt has qualified for the state meet in the event.

“That was really cool and it was fun to watch,” Seiloff said about Moffat’s qualifying swim. “He was excited. He’s worked really hard so it was well deserved.”
