Kurt Juel

Kurt Juel, 61, of Rock Springs passed away on Jan. 28 at his home. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Juel had been in ill health for the past several years.

He was born Feb. 26, 1953 in Rock Springs, the son of Eric and Pansy Juel.

Juel attended schools in Fort Collins, Colo. and Eden Valley. He was a 1971 graduate of Eden Valley High School. He also attended the University of Wyoming.

Juel was employed for 22 years at FMC and retired in 2002 as a lab analyst.

His interests included scuba diving reading, and spending time with his family. He also liked working with silver and rocks.

Survivors include his mother Pansy Juel of Rock Springs; two brothers, Norman Juel of Rock Springs and Greg Juel and wife Janet of Green River; two sisters, Helen Grover and husband Stan of Rock Springs and Karen Hunter and husband Phil of Longmont, Colo.; six nephews Seth Juel of Rawlins, Hans Juel of Green River, Adam Grover and Isaac Grover both of Rock Springs and Eric Hunter and James Hunter both of Longmont, Colo.; five nieces, Jenine Ritterodt of Marysville, Wash., Tina Skinner of Green River, Jody Elliston of Eauclaire, Wis., Janice Grover-Roosa of Green River and Laura Hunter of Longmont, Colo.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Eric Juel and his uncle Paul C. Juel, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Emmanuel Baptist Church at 3309 Sweetwater Drive, Rock Springs. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at the church one hour prior to services.

The family of Kurt Juel respectfully suggests that donations in his memory be made to Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital, Fairfax Avenue and Virginia Streets, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103.
