Frank Zeleny

Frank Zeleny, 94, of Green River passed away on Saturday, Dec. 20.  A longtime resident of Green River and former resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Zeleny passed away following a short illness.

He was born on Aug. 19,1920 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of the late John Zeleny and Louise Jirousek.

Zeleny attended schools in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated from Wilson High School with the class of 1938. He also attended Montana State University and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Zeleny worked as an electrician for 39 years in Rock Springs until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge.

His interests included hunting, fishing and hiking in the mountains. Survivors include one brother, Charles Zeleny of Bedford, Texas; two nieces, Nancy McGrath of East Moline, Ill. and Carol Zeleny of Center Point, Iowa, and special friends Marv and Irene Weik of Rock Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Rose Stolba and brother Joe Zeleny.

Cremation has taken place and he will be buried in the Walker Cemetery in Walker, Iowa at a later date.
