Francis Morrison

Francis Morrison, 86, of Green River died Nov. 27, 2014 at Deseret Health & Rehab Center in Rock Springs.

He was born Oct. 30, 1928 in Green River, the son of William "Bill" Morrison and Clara Cross Morrison. He attended schools in Green River and Lincoln High School.  He also attended machine school.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He married Nancy Martinez May 18, 1950 in Green River. She preceded him in death Jan. 18, 1974.

He had worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and at FMC for many years until his retirement in 1990.

He was a member of the Green River Eagles and the Golden Hour Senior Center in Green River.

He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

His interests were bike riding, taking walks, fishing, telling stories, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughters, Heather Jones of Green River, Barbara Bartelson of Anchorage, Alaska; sister, Rebecca Royce of Grand Junction, Colo.; grandchildren Candice Manley, Jesse, Micayla, Mackenzie Jones, all of Green River, Shawntelle Farrar of Utah, Andrew and Theresa Morrison of Rock Springs, Orlando and Tony Maldonado of Alaska; great-grandchildren Chace Morrison and Carson Farrar of Utah; five nieces and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Clara Morrison, wife Nancy Morrison, sons Jerry and Rick Morrison, brothers Carl, Bill, Floyd and Ralph Morrison.

Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory in Rock Springs.

Memorial services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Dec. 8, 2014 at Fox Funeral Home in Rock Springs.

Inurnment with military honors will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in Green River.
