Band will decorate trees

Adopt-A-Trees still available

The Green River Chamber of Commerce Adopt-A-Tree program is now underway and residents can adopt one of the trees along Uinta Drive.

To obtain a tree visit the chamber’s office.

Once a tree is selected, residents will then have to decide if they want to decorate a tree themselves or if they would like to have the Green River High School band decorate it for them.

This year, the band is using the Adopt-A-Tree program as a fundraiser. For $50, the band will put up light on the adopted tree between Nov. 14 and Dec. 4., and remove them between Jan. 2-5. For $30 they will put up the lights; and for $25 they will remove them.

The lights, extension cords and signs are provided by the business or organization adopting the tree. Once removed, the band will return them to the business.

While the band will use the utmost care in hanging and removing the lights and signs, other potential factors, including harsh weather or wind, will come in contact with these items and may damage them. The band will not be held responsible for any damage not caused by them.

Band members are asking participants to make sure all lights are in good working order.

Money raised will help send the GRHS band members to march in the Wyoming All State Marching Band in the 2016 Rose Parade.

For information contact Laurie Carollo at 875-6634 or email her at lcarollo@sweetwaterhsa.com.

Residents will need to provide their name, phone number, email, tree number, location or tree any any decorating instructions.

Once this information is received, band members will contact the participant to arrange the details, such as picking up and returning lights and signs.

Checks can me made payable to the GRHS Band Boosters. Payments can be turned into the chamber or mailed to Laurie Carollo, 2710 Alamosa Circle, Green River, Wy, 82935.
