    An All-State Lady Wolves swimmer intends to continue competing in the pool, signing on with the University of Wyoming's swim team. Avery Otto recently signed her letter of intent to compete for the Cowgirls swimming and diving team. Otto, a senior at Green River High School, has had a very successful four years in the pool.     Green River High School swimmer Jesse Lauze not only broke a school record in the 100-yard breaststroke and the conference record in the 200-yard medley relay, but was named All-Conference in the 200-yard medley relay and 100-yard breaststroke. Lauze also received All-State honors from the Wyoming Swimming and Diving Coaches Association in the 200-yard medley relay, where the relay team took third place.     A lifeguard's quick thinking and action is credited with preventing tragedy at the Green River Recreation Center Nov. 4. The lifeguard, Andrea Uhrig, was recognized by the Green River City Council Tuesday night.     Sweetwater County’s full-time employees will have something extra to be thankful for this Thanksgiving since the commissioners approved a one-time incentive.     Sweetwater County firefighters took on a second fire near Tipton early Tuesday morning. According to Sweetwater County Fire Warden Mike Bournazian, the fire was reported by a nearby Union Pacific train, as well as travellers along Interstate 80. Bournazian said winds in excess of 30 mph caused the fire to spread east and covered approximately a mile of land.     Michael Wayne Doty, 44, passed away Aug. 3, 2017, at his home. Doty was born on Dec. 31, 1972, in Cheyenne, the son of Paul L. Doty and Linda M. Atwood Doty.
