    One week after finishing their season at the state tournament, the Green River Lady Wolves had one player named to the 4A West All-Conference team. Junior setter Hattie Hix was named to the team after a vote by the coaches in the conference. Head coach Rikki Shantz said that throughout the season Hix was a competitor. “We had a lot of success at the end of the season and peaked at the right time.   • Middle school swimmers off to great start

    It’s been a great start to the season for the Green River Middle School swim team. According to coach Michele O’Melia, the girls are focusing on team commitment and having fun. She said there are 75 girls out for this year’s team and many of them have dropped their times. O’Melia added that they won the Jackson Invite Nov. 8, and it was the first time they have done that in several years. Green River won the meet with 297 points.     The Green River middle school girl’s swim team continued to shine with an impressive 116 to 38 home victory last Thursday over Rawlins. Green River had a swimmer finish first in eight of the ten events. Janae Neff, Cheryl Moritz, Emilee Mandros, Sydni Sanders, Raena Fitch and Ashley Jensen all had first place swims.   • Pool expected to open this week

    After months of delays, the Green River High School’s new Aquatics Center will be open by the end of this week. According to Sweetwater County School District No. 2’s Superintendent, Donna Little-Kaumo, the occupancy permit was granted Friday and substantial completion was achieved Monday. With that occupancy permit, Little-Kaumo said the district has started moving furniture and equipment into the facility.
