An employee at the Shopko Hometown store employee got a shock Sunday morning when she saw a mountain lion between the store and the Grace Tabernacle Church. The Green River Police Department responded to the call, but were unable to locate the animal, however possible mountain lion tracks were found around Stratton Myers Park. Det. Cpl. A week after water flooded parts of Rock Springs, many businesses have reopened, but a few continue cleaning up. Water spurred by heavy rainfall flooded many businesses in downtown Rock Springs, but wasn’t limited to that area of the city. After 30 years and two months, GRPD Sgt. Dan Friebel is putting aside his badge and officer uniform and donning his fishing pole and boating gear once again. A 40-year-old Utah resident died at Greens Draw Friday night. According to officials from the Daggett County Sheriff’s Office, Ryan Gardiner of Vernal, Utah, sustained serious injuries after being pinned between a camper and a vehicle. Sheriff’s deputies and other emergency responders were called to Greens Draw at about 10:30 p.m. Gardiner was conscious and responsive when responders first arrived, however his condition deteriorated and was unable to be stabilized for transport.
