    With the start of school comes fall activities provided by the library. We have weekly groups for teens in fifth through eighth grades (our Middle School group) and in ninth through 12th grades (High School Group). This year’s activities for fifth through 8th graders are coming to them. Our Middle School group is meeting in the Lincoln Middle School Media Center right after school on the first, second and third Thursdays.   • Non-fiction books can be fun for readers

    When library staff members talk to younger school groups, we often check to see whether they know what “fiction” and “non-fiction” mean. Many kids have figured out that fiction means “fake” and non-fiction means “not fake.” They’ve also recognized what adults may have forgotten after years of reading non-fiction texts for papers and reports: non-fiction can be fun!     Flying saucer shaped easy chairs. Dual-purpose footrest/side tables. Noodle chairs. Ready to visit the made-over teen section at the Sweetwater County Library yet? Teens now have a comfortable and brightly colored place to work, read, chat, and hang out at the library.
