Green River Police Department reports for Aug. 23

At 1:25 p.m., officers responded to the area of W Flaming Gorge Way and observed a property in violation of the City ordinance 17-1(a). Officers made contact with the owner and advised of the violation, issued a notice to abate, and completed an incident report.

At 2:12 p.m., officers responded to the area of W Flaming Gorge Way for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was reversing out of the parking area when the rear of the vehicle struck the front of a second vehicle, which was parked on the side of the roadway. The driver of the first vehicle, Claude T. York, of South Carolina, was issued a citation for alleged inattentive driving. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

At 8:06 p.m., officers responded to the area of W Teton Boulevard for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported that one vehicle was traveling north on W Teton Boulevard while a second vehicle was pulling out of the Smith’s west exit when the second vehicle struck the first vehicle. The second vehicle reversed and struck the first vehicle again, then left traveling southbound. The first vehicle then left the scene as well. Officers located both vehicles. They met with the driver of the second vehicle, but were unable to make contact with the driver of the first vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed an initial incident report.

Aug. 24

At 7:56 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Tigee Circle and issued the driver Mackenzie L. Malmstrom, of Rock Springs, a citation for alleged speed.

At 8:24 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding.

At 8:25 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Bridger Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 8:42 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E Teton Boulevard and issued the driver Isaac Armando Orozco, of Rock Springs, a citation for alleged speed.

At 8:47 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Shoshone Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged brake light violation.

At 9:18 a.m., officers responded to the Roosevelt Learning Center located at 2200 E Teton Boulevard for a report of a juvenile who brought two vape pens to school. Officers met with the juvenile, staff, and a parent/guardian. Officers issued a citation for alleged unlawful use or possession of tobacco by a minor - 3rd offense to the juvenile, age 16, of Green River, and completed an incident report.

At 10:13 a.m., CSOs responded to the area of S 5 W Street for a report of a nuisance property. Officers observed the property in violation of the City ordinance 17-1(a) and made contact at the residence. Officers advised the property owner, issued a notice to abate, and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:22 a.m., officers responded to a report of a court order violation. Officers met with an individual who reported concerns about a protection order. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:50 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Cedar Street for a report of a scam. Officers met with an individual who reported they put an item up for sale on Marketplace and were contacted by a subject who wished to purchase the item. The subject advised they would pay through Venmo and requested the individual’s email account to verify the account. The individual then received an email that appeared to be from Venmo requesting money to upgrade to a business account, so the transaction would go through. Additional funds were requested after the initial funds were sent. Once the individual contacted Venmo they learned it had been a scam. The individual contacted their financial institution and canceled the transactions. No monetary losses were reported. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:58 p.m., CSOs observed a property in violation of the City ordinance 17-1(a) and made contact with the property owner. Officers issued a notice to abate and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:35 p.m., officers responded to the area of N Center Street for a report of a larceny. Officers met with an individual who reported suspicious activity but no items appeared to be missing. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with individuals involved in an assault, gathered information, and completed an incident report.

Aug. 25

At 5:41 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E 2 S Street and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 8:24 a.m., officers responded to the area of Greasewood Street for a report of a disturbance. Officers met with an individual who reported that a subject was being disruptive and causing property damage. Officers met with the subject, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:58 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Riverview Drive and issued the driver a written warning for an alleged stop sign violation.

At 10:37 a.m., CSOs observed a property in violation of the City ordinance 17-1(a) and made contact with the property owner. Officers advised of the violation, issued a notice to abate, and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:01 p.m., CSOs observed a property in violation of the City ordinance 17-1(a) and attempted to make contact with the property owner. Officers posted a notice to abate and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:35 p.m., CSOs observed a property in violation of the City ordinance 17-1(a) and attempted to make contact with the property owner. Officers posted a notice to abate and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:14 p.m., CSOs responded to the area of Logan Street for a report of abandoned vehicles. Officers observed three vehicles that appeared to be abandoned. Officers made contact with the owner of the vehicles, advised of the violation, and completed an incident report.

At 9:25 p.m., officers responded to the area of E Teton Boulevard for a report of a single-vehicle collision. It was reported that the vehicle was traveling northbound around the roadway curve when the vehicle struck the guardrail. Officers met with the driver, gathered information, and completed an incident report.

Aug. 26

At 1 a.m., officers responded to the area of E Railroad Avenue in reference to a disturbance. Officers met with individuals who were involved in a verbal altercation. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

At 8:42 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged registration violation.

At 6:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Mountain View Street on a vehicle for multiple traffic violations. Officers met with the driver and subsequently submitted a request for re-examination of the driver to the Wyoming Department of Transportation.

At 7:02 p.m., officers responded to the area of Scotts Bottom Road for a report of a found property. Officers were contacted by the owner and the phone was returned.

Aug. 27

At 1:41 a.m., officers responded to the area of Aspen Street for a report of property damage. Officers met with an individual who reported hearing a loud bang and discovered a mailbox that appeared to have been blown up and found damage to a vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed an initial report of the incident, which is still under investigation. 

At 5:31 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E Flaming Gorge Way and issued the driver a verbal warning for a tail light violation.

At 11:57 a.m., officers responded to a report of property damage. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

At 5:23 p.m., officers responded to a report of an unattended death. Officers assisted EMS personnel and the coroner. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report. No suspicious circumstances were suspected.

At 6:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with individuals involved in an altercation and gathered information. The parties were separated, and officers completed an incident report.

At 6:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault. Officers met with individuals who reported a physical altercation and gathered information. The other involved individual was not located at the time the initial report was completed. The case is still under investigation.

Aug. 28

At 7:32 a.m., officers responded to the area of Shoshone Avenue for a report of a two-vehicle accident. It was reported the first vehicle was traveling eastbound when it struck the rear of a second vehicle which had been stopped for traffic. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

At 8:37 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Indian Hills Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding.

At 9:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of lost property. Officers met with an individual who reported important documents missing. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

At 9:50 a.m., officers responded to Maverik at 59 Uinta Drive for a report of a vehicle that ran into a concrete bollard. It was reported that as the vehicle pulled away from the pump the vehicle ran into one of the concrete bollards on the ends of the pumps. Officers met with the driver, gathered information, and completed an incident report.

At 11:04 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and issued the driver a written warning for an alleged yield right of way at intersections violation.

At 2:22 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in the GRHS parking lot. It was reported one vehicle was reversing and struck a second vehicle, which was traveling north in the parking lane. Officers met with the drivers, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:33 p.m., officers responded to Animal Clinic of GR at 460 E 2 S Street for a report of lost property. Officers met with an individual who reported they lost their keys. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

At 3 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding.

At 3:07 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding.

At 3:11 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Shoshone Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding.

At 3:14 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding.

At 3:21 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Shoshone Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding.

At 3:34 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding.

At 3:39 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding.

At 3:55 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of W Teton Boulevard and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 7:04 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals who were involved in a verbal dispute. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report. 

Aug. 29

At 2:45 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 3:08 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 3:19 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Mountain View Street and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding and no valid driver’s license.

At 3:35 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Shoshone Avenue and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 3:55 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of the intersection of Monroe Avenue and Andrews Street on a vehicle that was speeding and the use of a cell phone while driving. Officers met with the driver and found that their driver’s license had expired and the driver was required to have an interlock device. Officers placed the driver Chad K. Manley, of Green River, under arrest and issued citations for alleged use of handheld electronic wireless communication devices prohibited and drive without interlock device - 1st offense. Officers transported Manley to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 30

At 11:29 p.m., CSOs responded to the area of W 3 N Street for a report of a property in violation of the City ordinance 17-1(a). Officers attempted to contact the owner and posted a notice. Officers were later contacted by the property owner and advised of the violation. Officers issued a notice to abate and completed an incident report.

At 1:01 p.m., CSOs responded to the area of N 5 W Street for a report of a property in violation of the City ordinance 17-1(a). Officers attempted to contact the owner, posted a notice, and completed an incident report. 

At 1:25 p.m., CSOs responded to the area of W 2 N Street for a report of a property in violation of the City ordinance 17-1(a). Officers made contact with the property owner, issued a notice to abate, and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:51 p.m., officers responded to the area of Crossbow Drive for a report of a subject removal request. Officers issued Mark Kalogris, of Green River, a citation for alleged disturbing the peace.

At 3:43 p.m., officers responded to the area of Uinta Drive for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported both vehicles were traveling southbound on Uinta Drive, with one vehicle in the right lane and the second vehicle in the left lane.  As the first vehicle began to merge into the left lane, it struck the passenger side of the second vehicle. Officers gathered information, issued the driver, a juvenile, age 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving, and completed an incident report.
