Player named All Conference

For the second time in her career, she was named to the All-Conference list.

Madelyn Heiser, a Green River High School senior, was recently named to the Wyoming Coaches Association All-Conference list for 4A Division volleyball. All-Conference honors are voted on by the head coaches in each conference.

Heiser was the only Green River Lady Wolf receiving the honor this year.

"It's an honor to receive All Conference," Heiser said. "I have put a lot of time and effort into a sport that I love. It would not have been possible without my coaches or teammates though."

The senior was proud to play as a wolf during her high-school career. Each season is filled with highlights and games the team would rather just forget, and this year was no different.

"The highlight of the season was beating Evanston in three sets at home," Heiser said. "We played very well as a team and it was a great accomplishment."

The low came when the team didn't advance to State.

"I was disappointed we didn't make it to State," Heiser said. "As a senior, you want to make it last as long as possible and I wanted a chance to go compete at another State tournament."

At Regionals, the Lady Wolves fought hard, but came up short.

"The hardest part of playing my very last game is knowing that I won't ever play with those teammates and coaches ever again," Heiser said. "It really hit me how fast time flies."

With the season over, Heiser is moving on to play her last season of basketball for the Wolves, but she wanted to leave her volleyball teammates with some advice.

"My advice to the younger girls is to always work hard," she said. "Enjoy it while you can, because it goes by way too fast."
