New therapist welcomed

Summit Physical and Sports Therapy is pleased to announce the addition of Jeff Alcorn, DPT to their physical therapy team.

After practicing outpatient physical therapy for the past year in Rawlins, Jeff and his wife Kada, a Green River native, felt drawn to Sweetwater County to be near family, friends and the recreation opportunities of this area.

Jeff was raised in Chadron, Neb., -participating in football, basketball, track and baseball at Chadron High School.

He continued his athletic career as a football and academic standout for Chadron State, where he studied Human Biology.

Jeff also served as president of Chadron's Blue Key National Honor Society; an elected organization of students with upstanding character, scholarship and leadership. During his time as a collegiate athlete and working as a hospital physical therapy tech, Jeff found a passion for helping others gain function after injury.

With this desire to help others, Jeff went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

"Helping my patients achieve goals and return to their prior activities, so they are able to live life to the fullest, is the best part of being a physical therapist," he said.

Jeff has special interests in sports medicine, manual therapy and orthopedics. At Summit, he hopes to further specialize in these areas and become involved with local athletics.

In their free time, residents will find Jeff and Kada playing and coaching various sports, as well as taking advantage of the many hiking and recreation opportunities that Flaming Gorge has to offer.

They also look forward to supporting Kada's alma mater, Green River High School and building their family in a familiar hometown community. Jeff and Kada will be a wonderful addition to the community of Green River. Please join us in welcoming Jeff to Summit Physical & Sports Therapy.
