Harry Nickolas

Harry Nickolas, 86, of Rock Springs passed away Sept. 27, 2015 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.  A lifelong resident of Rock Springs, Nickolas died following a lengthy illness.

He was born on March 11, 1929 in Rock Springs, the son of Louis and Diamanta Nickolas. 

Nickolas attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated in 1947 form Rock Springs High School and also attended the University of Wyoming.

He married Dolores Romero in Rock Springs May 29, 1976 and she preceded him in death on March 11, 2002.

Nickolas was employed by Union Pacific Railroad as a foreman electrician at the roundhouse and worked for tmore than 28 years, retiring in 1984.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

His interests were wood working and tinkering with electrical projects.

Survivors include one son Charles Eugene Bynon of Rock Springs and one daughter Jeanette Vensor, of Rock Springs; brother Pete Nickolas of Salt Lake City; sister Clara Legaros of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three great-great-granddaughters; two nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dolores; son Lee; and one brother Spiro.

Cremation will take place and memorial services took place Wednesday.
