Animals can make a bad day much better

Human beings are a tricky bunch.

While there is so much good in the world, there is way to much fighting over land and religion.

There is too much crime and a lot of people really don’t care much anymore about anything but themselves and their phones.

Grown men are taking multiple “selfies” a day to make themselves look horribly silly and trying to find great customer service is like trying to find a Leprechaun.

You can look, but chances are you most likely are often times not going to find the gold at the end of that rainbow.

Even as I write this, I’m cranky and if I have to talk to someone, it might not be pretty. The sound of the phone ringing at the office makes me want to either bash my head against the wall, or possibly bash the phone against the wall. Or maybe the phone against my head.

No matter how bad my day can be and how sick I can get of people, there is one constant everyday when I get home.

As I pull up to my house, my cat Peaches hears me drive up and comes running to the window.

Each time he starts to meow constantly and rub his face against the window.

It doesn’t matter if I’ve been gone an hour, eight hours, or a couple days, the guy is always glad to see me and that puts a gigantic smile on the face.

It’s been the same with any pet I’ve had and all the great family pets I’ve known.

When you show up, the dogs and cats are always glad to see you. Tails wag or meows fill the room almost as if they are asking you about your day and would be honestly interested in your answer, even if it was the most boring day or story.

They are always glad to see you, no matter what.

It just makes me think that maybe the more advanced the species, the more problems it can create.

I think that dogs and cats are a lot smarter than people give them credit for, they live a much simpler life and society should take a cue from them from time to time.

What makes a pet happy?

Food, water, treats, comfort, sleep and attention from their human does the trick.

Wouldn’t it be great, if life was this simple?

While I have to admit I’m glad I don’t have a tail, I wouldn’t mind the life of a family pet. I could set around a nap while my human was at work. Maybe get up to bark at a bird flying by the window.

Occasionally I might stroll over to my bowl and eat. When my human was home I’d chase after a ball or a laser.

This would be the life.

Just thinking about Peaches and being a pet made me feel better.

Meow.
